Technobrega in the Amazon

In the heart of the Brazilian Amazon, global pop music sounds a little different. Technobrega – literally ‘cheesey techno’ – takes international hits and mixes them to a heavy elecro beat. It’s been unstoppable in the North of Brazil and is spreading fast. We met with producers and DJs who make their living from this trend to understand how it works and find out what the appeal is.
